Active Inclusion

Active Inclusion provides opportunities for children and young people who are neurodiverse to participate in sports.

The project has three streams:

Stream 1: Opportunities for participation, including our ‘Come and Try Days’ and the ‘Active Inclusion Social Sports Group’.

Stream 2: Capacity building of sporting organisations to support neurodiversity.

Stream 3: Resources to support neurodiverse participants in sport.

The program is in partnership with COMPS ACT and is funded by Information Linkages and Capacity Building funding by the Department of Social Services.

Active Inclusion Social Group

We are pleased to announce that we will be running our first Active Inclusion Social Group during Term 2.

This is a free program, allowing children to engage with local sports in a sensory-friendly environment. Children are encouraged to attend all eight sessions; however, this is not a requirement that they attend every session.

Each session will be held at a different venue depending on the individual sport and will run for approximately one hour. Coaches will be in attendance, as well as a representative from the Autism Centre.

The program is limited to 10 participants, aged 8-12.
