At the Kids Hub, you’re not accessing just one service. You’re connecting with a team of professionals who work together to identify the best supports for your child and family.
Depending on your needs, this may include brief interventions, group programs, practical guidance, or other therapeutic supports. If we believe another service would better meet your family’s needs, we’ll work alongside you to connect with the right service and support you through the referral process.

Welcome, assessment & family journey map
Families can access the Kids Hub by phone, online, or by visiting us in person. Our Reception team and Peer Navigators will provide a welcoming first point of contact and help connect families with the support they need.
Once a referral is received, it is reviewed by our triage team, who will contact the referrer (and/or family, where appropriate) to gather further information and gain an understanding of the child and family’s needs.
The information collected through the referral and assessment process is then discussed at our weekly multidisciplinary team (MDT) meeting, where clinicians work together to determine the most appropriate support and ensure families are connected with the services that best meet their needs.
Support by on-site health professionals
Following recommendations from the multidisciplinary team (MDT), the clinician or team member best suited to support the child and family will be allocated. An appointment will then be arranged to begin the most appropriate form of support, which may include individual therapy, family support, outreach services, and/or group programs. Throughout this process, families will be provided with practical resources, emotional support, and guidance tailored to their individual circumstances.
Connecting to the right support
In some situations, Kids Hub may not be the best fit for your child’s needs. If this happens, we will help connect you with services outside of Kids Hub that are better suited to your child and support you throughout the referral process to make the transition as smooth and straightforward as possible.
Transitional Planning
If your child is receiving support through Kids Hub, we’ll check in with you regularly to see how things are progressing and make any changes needed to ensure the support continues to meet your family’s needs. As your family’s needs change or your time with Kids Hub comes to an end, our peer navigators will work alongside you to plan the next steps and connect you with any ongoing supports that may be helpful.
