Support at Home

From 1 November 2025, the Australian Government began rolling out its new Support at Home program. The rollout will occur in two stages, with Home Care Packages transitioning from 1 November 2025, followed by the Commonwealth Home Support Program in July 2027. Support at Home with Marymead CatholicCare Canberra & Goulburn

Marymead CatholicCare Canberra & Goulburn is an approved aged care provider under the Australian Government’s new Support at Home program. We can work with you to manage your care and services so you can continue living safely and comfortably in your own home.


What is Support at Home?

The Support at Home program replaces the previous Home Care Packages (HCP) and Short-Term Restorative Care (STRC) programs. It is designed to provide older Australians with flexible, person-centred care that supports independence and wellbeing at home.


Support at Home offers a wide range of services, including:

  • Clinical supports – including nursing care, occupational therapy, and podiatry
  • Independence – including help with showering, taking medications, transport, and respite care
  • Everyday living –  including cleaning, gardening, shopping, or meal preparation.


Funding is allocated based on an aged care assessment, and you may be eligible for additional supplements depending on your needs.

How Do I Access Support at Home?

To access services under Support at Home:

  1. Contact My Aged Care on 1800 200 422 or visit https://www.myagedcare.gov.au.
  2. You will be assessed by an assessment organisation (not Marymead CatholicCare)
  3. Based on your assessment, you’ll be informed of your eligibility and funding level.

What Can Marymead CatholicCare Do for Me?

We offer a wide range of in-house and partnered services tailored to your needs, including:

  • Domestic Assistance (cleaning, laundry, etc.)
  • Personal Care (showering, dressing)
  • Meal Preparation
  • Shopping Assistance
  • Transport and Social Support
  • Home and Garden Maintenance
  • Allied Health Services (e.g., counselling, speech pathology)
  • Clinical Care (e.g., wound care, medication management)
  • Home Modifications and Equipment Support


We also provide Care Management to coordinate your services and ensure they meet your goals. Fees are based on your funding level and involvement in managing your care.

Referrals can be made by:

  • Yourself
  • A family member or carer
  • A GP or other health professional
  • Another service provider
